I don’t know what else to do about Florida except to boycott it until the government changes. I won’t travel there. I don’t buy products from there if I have a choice and can identify them. They are entitled to elect their politicians, but I don’t need to enable them to get manipulated by these morons into facism.

I got so depressed reading that.

I feel terrible for the kids in Florida as well. The library should be a safe space for them to access information they are too afraid to ask about.

Its so upsetting to watch libraries be treated as a political battleground. I feel there is a parallel to be drawn between crusty old male politicians making laws about womens reproductive rights and illiterate politicians and parents making laws about reading…the library was my favorite place in elementary school.

Yep, but they don’t know how badass librarians are! Knowledge is the real power, not whatever silly laws they try to implement on everyone top down.

It angers me this is happening in this country as a child growing up i looked to the library to help me through depression and abusive home it helped as i imagine it does for people of color and the LGBTQ community. A library is a place to find youre way in private we all need that at times and we need librarians that make it happen through diverse books and not judging when we check out books.

Congratulations Florida parents. You’ve aligned yourselves with the likes of Hitler and Pol Pot. Maybe if they’d read more books, they’d understand why that’s bad.
