Every season 1-all of the couples of 90day have this trope of drama creation where the American spouse saying “I dont know if X made the flight”. We all know the partner is on the flight and so do they. When I was in a cross-continent relationship, we would always text “boarding now love you”, which is a very common thing. I don’t get how they still try to make this fly every season?

Why do producers add it every season?

I’m waiting for the American taking their fiance to a furniture store and having a fight with them in the store because the fiance wants the the super expensive couch. That happens practically every season. The American always seems to pick the most expensive store to take them to over going to a discount place like IKEA.

Right. Because typically speaking of you didn’t hear from them they’re def on the flight. Because even if they didn’t have internet during a rushed connection or they missed it at home the hours it takes to fly here from wherever would surely guarantee the person would be home in time to finally update they didn’t make the flight.

Then again maybe they’re specifically told not to speak on these days so they are in the dark? Like for authentic experience the production asks them not to check in and then plants the seed of maybe they missed the plane and panic ensues.
