You’re allowed to use your own critical thinking skills to come to your own conclusions about what a conservative guest might say.

It isn’t necessary for the TDS (guest) host to hold every conservative person’s feet to the fire. It’s possible to have a normal conversation without setting up landmines and gotcha questions at every turn. It’s even allowed for them to spout their idiotic rhetoric, and for you to make up your own opinion without comedians spoon feeding you what to think.

Mace and Haley are amongst the “As good as it gets Republicans”. The kind you let into the house because you know they won’t eat the furniture or piss on the rug. I am sure this comes as a shock to you, but not every Republican is equally bad. There are levels.

Of course I would prefer every guest to be a historian, author, or a scientist, etc but it’s okay to invite a conservative on the show and have a dialogue with them. You don’t have to like it, but you should listen anyhow, although many of you won’t even do that. It’s possible to listen to someone you disagree without melting down over it.

I didn’t see what Silverman said about Palestine, and quite frankly I am not going to look it up. Maybe it was fucked up, but I don’t have to follow every jot and tittle.

Just because she possibly (again, I can’t pass judgement because I didn’t see it) made a mistake about that situation, doesn’t mean she is incapable of making good jokes and points about other topics. She might make a good host. For me, she’s a better choice than Leslie Jones, or Desus Nice. Many of you enjoyed both of them when they had their turn, and while I didn’t, I can respect your opinion.

No host is going to be perfect for every person in the audience. No matter who is chosen, many of you are going to complain about it. I’ll probably quite if it is Jones, or anyone not a correspondent–and that list is obviously growing shorter with Roy Wood and Sloan gone.

Agreed. Now I do expect the permanent host to be more hard hitting with politicians as guests from both sides of the aisle. But I’m not gonna criticize a guest host for lacking that skill.

And agreed that no permanent host will be perfect. They’ll grow and develop during their tenure. They won’t be perfect out the gate.
