It seems that in every fight, both comics and show, he lets his emotions get the better of him and then, respectfully, has his ass handed to him.
It just seems unlikely considering he has lived for over a thousand years.

Lincoln sucked as a military leader.
He should’ve beaten the south in mere months after capturing New Orleans and basically blocking their only real port. Instead it took him 3 more agonizing years to beat an outnumbered foe despite having most of the country’s military industry.
His best general was a literal alcoholic.
I don’t have much knowledge about history or strategic planning, but did they have an understanding of the factors you mentioned back then, or is this understanding only clear to us now in retrospect?
The “Grant is an Alcoholic” myth is so frustrating to me. The south created the lost cause myth as a coping method for losing so poorly in the war. There was no evidence of Grant being an Alcoholic in the field. Also, being an armchair general doesn’t make you qualified to run a nation’s military strategy c1861
