Just like movies with books it doesnt take me long to know if ill enjoy it or not, 30 pages into Deeply odd and I was not feeling it, Is Odd Thomas delusional and lives in this make up world that only exist in his mind, that is the vibe i was getting, anyways, I got this book at the library so im thinking about returning it, in the mean time im 10 pages into Long road to mercy by Baldacci and its okay not great, just incase I also have Natchez Burning by Illes, Im familiar with his work and most of his book i enjoyed.
The first and third books are the best. Two was fine but kind of dark. They go downhill after that.
I still love Odd as a character and read the whole series, but I only read the first and third.
And now that I realized you jumped into the seventh book in the series first… yeah, read the first one. Deeply Odd is not representative of the earlier books at all. Also jumping into that late in just about any series is setting yourself up for failure.
