I think so, he’s a bachelor and many guys still live like they did in college until they get that partner who gives them a glow-up, and then they start realizing real bookshelves wouldn’t be a bad thing, and matching silverware isn’t a waste. And his mom is probably just happy to have a roof over her head… It doesn’t look like he came from money, so maybe to him, that apartment IS nice compared to what his mom raised him in…I mean she’s pretty hair living in a walk in closet, that’s says a lot.
When I married my late husband who was an electrical engineer, he told me if it was just him he would had been just fine with plastic milk boxes as bookshelves and a broken down old couch when he was a bachelor. He was making great money and ate off a wobbly card table. He was very happy to change things up when we got married and get furniture made out of wood lol
