the guy is really the worst but i gotta say the discussion between them was really interesting. in a way he is right, people with powers don’t follow any rules and it’s actually great to see that sometimes even good deeds have bad outcomes. i am very curious to see where they are taking this with eve, since in the comics this wasn’t an issue. that being said, that girl needs a win for once, i feel like with what rex did to her and her dad mistreating her she could really use a break or a real friend

That man is fucking disgusting. Especially some of the stuff he says to Mark later on.

The guy has always been a pos, nice work to the writers and the VA for that.

However this time he put on a valid criticism. Eve did create a problem and I actually can see why they parents rejected her gifts, since there was 0 warranty the food she created couldn’t be dangerous.

The woman said “it’s about time someone cuts through all the red tape,” which is a pretty popular [and populist] thing to say, but sometimes red tape exists for a reason.

Permits, inspections, and ‘code’ are important - so when mom-lady tells the foreman where she can shove her code - I get it, you want your home, of course you do, but there’s a reason codes exist.

I think that collection of scenes does a really good job at showing how normal people, understandably, feel frustrated when inconvenienced [or actively forgotten] by their government, and someone [well intentioned or malicious] comes along promising to skirt the rules and “just get it done.”
