I have two. The Ritual and Drowning.
The Ritual is pure smut. 61 chapters and every one contains a graphic, demeaning sex scene. I’m convinced the author was an adult film screenwriter and decided to try their hand at writing a novel. There isn’t a single likable character in this book.
Drowning isn’t a great work of literature. I felt that the characters were very two-dimensional. I hated how naive the author made the protagonist. It made me have a lack of sympathy for her. The ending was series finale of Dexter bad.
A Certain Hunger. I got it for 50p at a charity shop and I still felt robbed.
same i just DNF it. i was so excited because i found a signed copy at B&N but it was just so bad imo. the book had absolutely no flow, the unreliable narrator made me so angry, and the story of the killings basically took a back seat. when it got to the part where it came out that she was a cannibal and i did not care at all is when i knew i was done with the book.
It was soooooo boring. The bit where she was butchering the guy like ‘you probably want me to stop talking about it because you’re disgusted with me’. No, I want you to stop talking because you are boring me to death.
