I have two. The Ritual and Drowning.
The Ritual is pure smut. 61 chapters and every one contains a graphic, demeaning sex scene. I’m convinced the author was an adult film screenwriter and decided to try their hand at writing a novel. There isn’t a single likable character in this book.
Drowning isn’t a great work of literature. I felt that the characters were very two-dimensional. I hated how naive the author made the protagonist. It made me have a lack of sympathy for her. The ending was series finale of Dexter bad.
The Paris Apartment by Lucy Foley. I just couldn’t make myself finish it.
Didn’t finish? You missed a plot twist! And a page later another one! And another! And another!
Not to spoil it with details, but the last few pages of the main story were like a supercut of a telenovella… “Tadadaam!” music and everything
I struggled and skimmed to the end. It got better but I couldn’t justify the end being so painful.
I couldn’t finish this one either, I found it so boring. I usually like Lucy Foley too.
Took me two years to finish that one. The beginning was sooo dull. Honestly, you could skip halfway and not be that confused if you’ve read her other books. The twists are the end really surprised me tho. Hoping her next ones will be better 🤞🤞
