    Is that bathroom a communal bathroom? Is the patio also? If so, I wonder how many people use it and how dangerous it must be to use it at night time. I used to live in California & I’ve not heard of this unless it’s a dorm room situation or older hotels.

      My old building had shared units because it was close to UCLA and in a very expensive building/area. However, the shared units are 3 bedrooms that share a kitchen/common space, 2 of the bedrooms share a bathroom, and the other has its own. I stayed there for a few months in one of the master bedrooms with its own bath and it wasn’t cheap.

      However, I’ve never seen anything like Rob’s setup.
