Not really, Moldova has a big influence of Russia for have been part of USSR. Many people in Moldova speak Russian and they follow the same religion as in Russia, Greek Orthodox.

Very beautiful religions. Believe and you will live forever. Disbelieve and you will suffer all eternity in a lake of fire. Really, really lovely.

And many speak Romanian. 96% follow Moldovan or Bessarabian Orthodox christianity. Moldovans don’t like being associated with Russia.

Yep. Moldova used to be a part of Romania until the USSR took it away and made Moldova. There is both a heavy Romanian influence and Russian influence in the country. Andrei speaks Romanian and Igor I think was speaking Russian even though they’re both from the same country so it depends what region you’re from.

I speak Romanian and I could only understand 5-10% of what Igor was saying in the park to his friend.

Igor is probably an ethnic Russian who lives in Moldova. He hasn’t spoken Romanian once, not even when he and his friend talked to those men in the park (who could be heard speaking Romanian before their scene with Igor).
