I was thinking of going to the park later on today so this got me thinking. I am trying to eliminate distractions so I am hoping this will help me to get at least an hour or more in so I can make a good chunk of progress in my book. Lol I feel like I can never read more than 20 mins without getting distracted.

My partner loves to read in coffee shops… we usually read for 30-60 min but sometimes we end up just chatting instead 🙂

This is my favorite use of half a day. I alternate snorkeling and reading (with snacks!). Total bliss

1-2 hours if i specifically go out to read but its also common for me to go out on a walk and make pit stops with my kindle. Now if i go to say a coffee shop never more than a hour and less if it is busy.

Indoors in the library, I can be most of the day (4-6 hours, sometimes more).

Outdoors is very much a “weather permitting” scenario! :D

I’m so jealous. Sitting in the library makes me sleepy, I generally get less than an hour before nodding off. When that starts happening I like to go around the library and pull books off the shelf to read a couple paragraphs here and there, which is still fun.

Take a nap before reading. Every day after work I’d go to the library to read, but because I’m there after work I’m kinda tired. I’ll take a 20-30 minute nap in the comfy chair I read them wake up and read all I want without falling asleep.

Plus a nap a day is seriously good for you physically and mentally in the short and long run

Outside depends on weather/bugs/sunlight, 20 mins to 2 hours

Restaurant? 30 min to an hour if it’s not taking up space

Library? Until I feel like leaving or closing time. Can be an entire afternoon on a weekend if I have nothing to get done around the house or other plans.

I have an incredibly difficult time reading in public due to the distractions. I CAN read at the library…however, the closest two libraries to me have zero comfortable seating and it’s not easy to kick back in a solid wooden chair! And I have no problem reading somewhere whilst I wait for a service…like auto repair/Dr’s office…mostly because I dislike waiting and it keeps my mind off that fact. I audiobook it at the beach, def a fave!

Anywhere from a half hour to 3-4 hours depending how long it takes before I need the bathroom. Being outside helps me to hyper focus away from the distractions of my house

Outside, until the bugs send me running. Inside, barring major distractions (like a noisy cafe) which might draw me out of the story, there really isn’t a limit.

Normally I can’t read for more than 15-20 minutes at a time but last week I tried going to the park and ended up getting through half the book without even noticing. I’ve been doing all my reading outside since. It really helps with my attention span. Give it a try!

I got to my local brewery. I get a beer per 50 pages. I usually can only read 100 pages when there. It’s definitely high distractions, but the nice thing is that I don’t have the things I want to be distracted by there. It’s pretty good for me really.
