I’ve seen some complaining about the quality of this season, (even though there’s only been 2 episodes so far) complain that it just feels like filler. Even some complaining that the plot is all over the place
The show, and even the comics, has always been a slow burn. The story has never been particularly plot heavy.
Even season 1, most of the episodes barely touched on the plot until the very last two episodes. That’s how it’s always been. The main story has always been Mark learning what it means to be a hero. If anything, the last two episodes has set up a lot of minor plot points. It’s never been just the Vilrtumites.
The story has always been a love letter to superhero stories. Yes, most comics, then and now, always have their wacky villains of the week, reacorruing enemies, and B, C, and D plots.
This season the story is focused more on the emotional impact of the last season.
What are you on about? The first season mostly focused on the plot and so has season 2, this is your defense to baseless claims?
Season 1 was action packed which allows you to cover up weaker areas of the plot and writing. This season feels like they’re going in a more story driven direction and focusing more on the relationships between characters. In addition, you need actual good writing to pull that off so I think that’s why it feels a little awkward right now. I have faith that the writers will find their footing in this season eventually though
Don’t know if it’s him “learning to be a hero” I think it’s more Mark learning to navigate the world and what’s important to him.
My biggest issue with season 2 is the subpar animation. But plot wise, pacing feels very off
