I love classic FG but not so much after Seth stopped writing. Same complaints as everyone, characters drastically changing from originals, etc.

Except I LOVE the cutaways, they’re supposed to be irrelevant confabulatory nonsense cococted in the mind of a childish, daydreaming drunk.

And I don’t object to it not “going anywhere” , going somewhere is what ruined the Simpsons. Now Homer and Marge met in the 90s, FFS. By contrast Bonnie being pregnant since 1996 was f------g hilarious.

Used to love Family Guy but South Park ruined it and I also just got older and didn’t find as funny as used to. Some jokes still slap.

I disagree with them…mostly because I don’t care about plot with my cartoons mostly and just want to laugh.

I find even crappy family guy will still give me one slight chuckle which is more I can say for South park these days

I like family guy. It’s definitely just cut away jokes constantly but that and American dad still have some great laughs available… It’s just not as brilliant or anywhere near as intelligent as Southpark (imo). Doesn’t mean it doesn’t have some hilarious jokes and moments

The problem with Family Guy is that after the first few season it became a show of utter nonsense, with no narrative cohesion, as South Park satirized. It became just “people doing stuff.”

What’s funnier is that they didn’t have to do this. Matt & Trey woke up one day and decided to be haters.
