I shudder to think what that apartment smells like! There are a total of four animals, right? The ick I would get once that door opened and the smell hit me 🤢

    With proper cleaning, their cages should NOT smell. Especially since he uses fleece bedding and not wood shavings. It probably smells like hay though. My apartment always did when I had Guinea pigs. It’s just earthy, not necessarily dirty smelling if that makes sense. Tiny dogs with tiny bladders concern me though lol.

      I was gonna say, I own quite a few exotics & worked at a pet store with guinea pigs for 3 years and never noticed a smell except for hay. Whatever guinea pigs OP was smelling probably had a filthy cage lol
