I’m rewatching the show for the millionth time and I’m at the beginning of the fifth season, Ep3 Planned Obsolescence. It’s where, after starting to very casually date, Bojack finds out Gina is constantly listening to a musical and he gets obsessed with trying to get her to open up, goes so far as to create a situation for her to possibly sing in Philbert. The question I’m dealing with right now is this: was Bojack ever actually interested in dating GINA or was he simply projecting his absolute need to be loved onto her, and the more she kept him at a distance the harder he tried to break her open? Give me your thoughts. I’m not looking for politics and Jesus people everyone has an opinion so let it go, don’t get into fights over a fictional tv show—it’s truly a waste of your time. Thanks!

It felt like he wanted Gina to be into him, he wanted to get her to open up and give him a kind of personal intimacy she wasn’t comfortable giving him.

Gina was fine with keeping it an on-set fling with no personal intimacy attached beyond that, but Bojack was the one pushing for more to happen.
