Currently on Series 3 episode 5 and I’m really not sure what to think of the series so far.
Zava…. Why?
Shandy…. Why?
Keeleys new job is so irrelevant to the show.
Why am I watching Rebecca seeing a psychic?
Roy and Niece had the funniest scenes together. I think we’ve seen his niece so far once this series.
I can’t even remember Rebecca and Sam having a scene together in Series 3?
It just feels so different from Series 2 which I enjoyed so so much. Had high hopes for series 3 and I’m kinda disappointed so far and bored tbh. Tell it gets better lol. The other two series were great except series 2 ep 1….
Believe. It will play out. Zava is the spark for both Ted and Jamie, he also serves as a plot device to give Richmond some breathing room to screw up a number of matches but still have a plausible chance at winning the whole f’ing thing. Shandy is Keeley trying to fill the Rebecca void and showing what Keeley would have been if she didn’t have the positive mind set that the show is about. It starts paying off in episode 6, I promise. They had to go through the dark forest to get to the happy ending a lot of what you describe is the dark forest. The Keeley plot line is probably the weakest. But from here on out it’s more positive than bad.
Stick with it. Trust me.
Zava pays off imo. It’s subtle but it’s there.
Keeley growing from party girl to successful business woman is an arc started in S1. It’d be weird if they just dropped it now.
The psychic does pay off too, but I think they could’ve found a better way to do that.
Shandy… was pretty bad and amounted to nothing. Maybe it was meant to show the path Keeley didn’t take, but again, could’ve been done better.
I think the whole thing with Shandy was to highlight how impressive Keeley’s career is; because jumping from model to PR boss is not something most models can do… Shandy showed us that. She had aspirations and a mentor who gave her a chance like Keeley had with Rebecca, but Shandy still couldn’t make it work.
Remember when Rebecca told Keely “hire your best friend”? Keely did just that and she quickly learned that she was past all the party girl stuff and had grown into a serious businesswoman.
!When Rebecca gives Keeley money after the funding has been pulled, i kinda felt that it was a subtle nod the the “men give each other jobs in the bathroom all the time” bit from season 1. Because honestly if that had been between two male characters i think the complaining about that would have been less.!<
Well Shandy wasn’t her best friend was she?? More like a former friend.
It’s symbolic. She couldn’t hire Rebecca.
Shandy needed to happen for keeley to realize she didn’t get to where she is because Rebecca gave her a job, she got to where she is by taking the job as an opportunity to grow.
Shandy was a waste of time. The actress was great, but it didn’t help show how good Keeley is as running a business. It didn’t hurt, but it also didn’t help
Zava’s story does have some meaning to it.
There are also two things that I highly disagreed with and frustrated by
That being said, it’s still a good season with fantastic moments, jokes, storylines, and growth. A season worthwhile, despite my deep frustrations with some aspects
I think it´s a matter of taste in some cases. I personally loved the Zava bits and i sometimes go back just to watch those scenes for a laugh.
I think they ran out of ideas. The Keeley/Jack storyline was atrocious.
I think Shandy’s purpose is to show that Keeley is realizing how much she’s changed. She used to be just like Shandy and now she’s much more responsible and actually can take her job seriously. Then she has to fire her old friend which is a very difficult thing to do but she’s now clearly willing to make sacrifices and do hard things to achieve her own dreams and make her own way in the world
