I’m glad Brandon’s mom is being measured in her conversation/advice. I forgot Mary doesnt HAVE a ‘mom’ in her life, and her Grandma is of another time and generation that she probly can’t relate to. Mary truly NEEDS the guidance of a mom right now, but without judgement, and she probably wouldn’t even get that from her OWN mother… poor thing. I speak from experience when i was pregnant at 19 in college, and my own mother’s response was: “How could you be so stupid!!!” and walked away (even tho it was my parents’ first grandchild!!)
That completely shattered me and i’ll NEVER forget it. Never.
(Happy ending: my mom and this ‘stupid’ baby, are now VERY close, and the baby i was so ‘stupid’ for having, just got her PhD. from Harvard in May and is a professor there)
