I’m not a fan of the “bojack actually died in the pool” theory. I prefer the theory that the final episode is bojack’s “view from halfway down”. In the final episode he only talks to his friends. It centers around them and his feeling as if he needs them. And also him enjoying their company. On his way to death he has that dream “TVFHD” But in that dark abyss that he gets sucked into, he sees what he’s missing out on. I like this theory because it leaves room for bojack to still either be dead or alive. Maybe he did get saved, maybe his view is exactly how it played out. Or maybe the view was his last reminder of what life could’ve been if he didn’t make it.
