My mom is stuck in the hospital for a few weeks. She loves to read but doesn’t have any specific authors to recommend. When I asked her what she likes, she just said , women’s literature (I interpreted that as she like a woman main character). She just wants easy reading, feel good woman protagonist stories. Can anyone recommend some authors so I can go buy her some books to bring her?
Thank you.
I’m a few years younger than her and I loved the Mrs. Pollifax series by Dorothy Gilman, she’s retired and bored so she volunteers to become an agent for the CIA.
I’m currently working my way through the High Society Lady Detective Series by Sara Rosett
I’ve read several books by Beatriz Williams, she captures the era in every book she writes.
If she is interested in something more modern, the Anna Pigeon series by Nevada Barr is set in the National Parks in the 1990’s the main character is a law enforcement park ranger. The books don’t need to be read in order, but there are a few recurring characters.
