Of course there are obvious ones like Rupert or Edwin Akufo. But do you have a least favorite character out of all the good ones?

I know this is a very unpopular opinion but sometimes I find myself so annoyed with Keeley. Her character is almost too loveable and her style is just terrible (in my opinion), I am pretty sure I have worn some of her same outfits back in the 90s. Sometimes I just don’t like her.

Michelle. Fuck Michelle dude u make ur husband take a job in another country so u can have space to figure out how to love him again, then u visit him and make it so uncomfortable because he still loves u and u can’t get yourself to show even an ounce of affection until he tells you it’s okay to move on (because god knows why u couldn’t communicate ur feelings effectively and own up), then u keep calling him and having ur lawyer contact him about the divorce papers like ur in a rush to be single and totally disregard the fact that Ted is a fucking WRECK about this because of u, then u start dating ur fuckin couples counselor and letting him get so close to u and Ted’s kid!!! Then Ted tells u how hurt he is by it and all u say at the end of the call is “of course” in response to Ted being such a good person and forgiving u so as to not harm YOUR SON. Visit Ted again, WITH JAKE, tell Ted without any remorse that Jake actually surprised u with a super romantic vacation and say it in a tone that’s expectant that Ted will be happy for you. And you don’t own up to ANY of it. I know we aren’t supposed to love Michelle but I think we were supposed to try to understand her side. To which I respond, ur a shit person and Henry should live with Ted in England. Like Rebecca says in the banquet episode, “Accountability matters.” And we don’t see Michelle apologize once or even acknowledge that’s she’s being shitty. When she talks to Ted on the phone after Jake picks up, really all she does is panic like “oh shit I got caught” and tells Ted they’ll talk at a better time, which we never see happen until Ted calls to tell her he’s pissed off and hurt. Again, I know we aren’t supposed to love her but I have such a white hot rage towards her character because all she contributes is just making us want to give Ted a hug and (personally) punch her in the nose. Thank u for listening to my TedTalk, I’m here all week folks.

Agreed. Michelle is my least favorite. Rupert, Jack, Dr Jake are low hanging fruit. Poor Michelle to have a husband who is positive but willing to work on the relationship, eager to please in the sack, a good dad, kind overall, makes college football coach money (6-7 figures). Boo hoo. Is she really going to meet someone nicer? Just because she doesn’t have the thrill of ‘how it felt in the beginning’ - sorry sweetie, no long term relationship does. So she wants to go to another relationship seeking that thrill, she’ll never be satisfied.

He wasn’t always honest with his feelings. He often used positivity as a mask or a shield to avoid addressing his issues. We saw him drink too much. We saw Dr Sharon teach him that it’s healthy to express and accept negative emotions without trying to change them. I can understand how exhausting it must have been for Michelle to be married to him. I think the door is open for them to eventually really talk and at least come to terms.

For sure he is not perfect and would be a lot sometimes, but I could think of a lot worse personalities to deal with.

Sure, there are worse personalities to deal with. Obviously being married to Rupert would be worse. But I think it’s unfair to say that Michelle left him because she was seeking a thrill. I think she left him because he couldn’t express his real feelings, and she was left feeling unable to connect with him and feel close to him. People can feel it when you’re not being honest with them, and it hurts the trust of the relationship. Maybe he tried to change her feelings whenever she expressed negative emotions instead of just listening to her, accepting that her feelings were valid. I don’t like Michelle, but I can understand her position.

Yeah wow I hadn’t actually thought about Michelle this thoroughly but I couldn’t agree more. Here is how they continue the story going forward: Season 4 starts with a funeral, whose funeral? MICHELLES! Ted and Henry are distraut when out of the blue Beard calls to give his condolences. He then invites them over to England for a ‘bereavement holiday’. While back in England Ted reignites his love of Richmond and England and he and Henry move back there and we’re back baby!
