I remember back when S1 just finished, I read a comment that sung the praises of invincible because it accurately showed a “gas lighting abusive father for what they really are.”" A felt a little bad because they might have had an abusive father themselves and they were projecting, but at the same time It reminded me of all the AITA and other sub posts where there is never any nuance allowed ever. Every single story is black and white, OP good, antagonist evil etc. Those type of people are going to have a hell of a time with Mark hugging his dad.
This! & its not even necessarily bad. Its just annoying as shit. Thats it, thats all. Too many times in probably every fandom i engage with at the moment, there’s an alarmingly large amount of people who just disregard any concept of nuance. None of this shit is black & white & none of these characters are real. Lets just enjoy the show & discuss fairly
I agree and what’s even worse is when there isn’t any gray to be had and there’s a very clear bad and good people want to try and add some gray where there shouldn’t be it’s just people being people and being annoying
I’m confused, isn’t this what this sub wants? People to be interested enough to even have these feelings and conversations about Omni-man? Or the show in general?
We don’t need to put down people and their conversations because we’ve read the comics and feel some type a way about it. Unless there’s a TV sub, then just direct people there, but then this sub would just become full of “ I can’t wait until they do THAT moment in the comic.” posts. Lol
I don’t know, maybe I’m an outlier and like seeing this be talked about again from new eyes.
They are just late to the party then, we will be over it by then haha
Very very similarly to Joel’s decision at the end of the first game (and season) of The Last of Us, players of the game had experienced the end more than a decade ago and even had a sequel game about the repercussions of his actions but to tv viewers it was the exact same discourse we’d all grown tired of literally years ago, the exact same arguments and the exact same silly insults thrown by either party
I agree 100 fucking percent. Someone just said its concerning to like omni man or any other viltrumite because they’ve committed genocide. Liking these characters dont translate to real fucking life☠️ we are watching animation about mfs who can fly & hold their breaths for weeks. I hate how humans insert themselves into everything. We cant just enjoy shit anymore. If ya like something that means you agree w every facet of the character😂 its just realllly exhausting & braindead
The discourse around omni man once this airs will be annoying asf.
“hE DoeSnT DesErVe RedeMptioN”
“omnI mAn Is ReDeEmiNg HiMseLf” its finna be the biggest back & forth war we’ve ever seen

Redditors don’t understand how the real world works at all
do you think he WASN’T a gaslighting, abusive father?
4th group Omni man did nothing wrong!
What exactly do you add to the discussion by pointing this out?

Mainstream audiences when a comic book character requires critical thinking:
They are just late to the party then, we will be over it by then haha
