Patriot Act was a hysterical show. It is probably one of the last shows that would consistently make me belly laugh. We can debate whether his creative license was manipulative or artistically valid, but I mean he shouldn’t lose a show that the world used to think he deserves. He is honestly extraordinarily talented in my humble opinion.

EDIT: I believe this despite being a massive Bill Maher fan. You can search my post history: I am very active on the r/Maher subreddit.

I just think it will be Patriot Act. No to Hassan for me. I personally think the show needs a different direction that only someone new can provide. Maybe someone who isn’t well established yet. It doesn’t need to be a politics show like what Stewart did. That format is everywhere now. Status quo needs to be challenged.

Trevor Noah was a totally new direction. He was a South African comedian who was never a correspondent. That didn’t seem to work out to well.

I thought it worked out well. I just felt he played it a bit safe and somewhat stuck with Stewarts format, just lightened up a bit with the politics.
