There are times in the show where MPB seems like he’s very emotionally mature, almost the voice of reason when talking to one of the characters. Then there are times where either the butt of the joke or just really good at playing stupid. From his word plays, to his scatter brained ideas with Todd, to the crew neck/v neck discussion with Bojack. I think it’s just hard to know how to take his character
I’m not sure why this scene comes to mind and I don’t remember it exactly but I always felt like the scene when bojack is at the game show and PB kinda goes off at him for kissing Diane is like the only time we really see a side of PB that doesn’t feel forced.
I think what it is is that it shows he does do critical thinking and reflects on stuff but just chooses not to say it
I also think about the scene where he has a huge fight with Pickles while everyone is trying to escape his failed surprise party.
That scene feels like the result of repressing all his negative emotions for so long
And at the conclusion of the scene he goes right on back to repressing.
