Well I was just pondering when I thought how fast do people read books. I read the cradle series last month in under 13 days. Constantly binge reading it. I have alot of time so it didn’t seem a big deal. Then I remembered in 2019 when I first picked up WoT I followed many people who were reading for the first time or reading it and I discovered it took most of them a year or so and I read it in under 4 Months. That time I was doing my last year in college and had many exams.

On release day, I finished A Curse for True Love in less than 3 hours. As soon as it showed up in my Kindle, I lay in bed and read the whole thing.

Me too. After a friend of mine told me a major spoiler for Harry Potter and the half blood prince, I decided I wouldn’t let that happen again and read the other two books as fast as I could.

Lots of books I’ve finished overnight tbh, or in what amounted to an extended sitting. A good book can be extremely compelling

I’m a pretty slow reader in general but I did read The Road in one day. I started it one morning before class and ended up skipping uni altogether that day so I could finish it

When I was a teen I read Cat’s Cradle in a day, well by staying up all night. Those 3-page chapters kept me going “just one more” till suddenly I was done and it was getting light out.

I’d recommend Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut, as well. It has similar chapter lengths and the story is very compelling so it’s hard to put down.

I read And Then There Were None in one day but I believe everyone did. That book is simply unputdownable. I also finished the First Law Trilogy in under 10 days.

I got in to Harry Potter when Goblet of Fire was already out, all subsequent entries I’ve speed read.

I am a quick reader so reading a 200 page book in a day when I have the time is not that weird for me.

I think I read The Hellbound Heart in two days and I was pacing myself, it’s a short book really.

In high school I bought a book and it’s sequel. Finished book 1 the same day I purchased and got halfway through 2. Never read as much as I did as a kid.

I read Stephen King’s Tommyknockers in one day. And it was Christmas, so I had to socialize and help with dinner and such. But any downtime that day I was reading.

When I was 11, I read Little Women in one night. That was my gateway drug to my books’ addiction and disordered sleeping. 🤓

I read Dune in two days when I was a teenager. I was completely taken with it. I’ve never read it since, and I never read the other books, but I remember just devouring it.
