From the front to the back this episode is literally nourishment for those of us that read the comic. The narrator, the focus on Allen (and what’s to come), the Thraxan introduction, I felt like this was the best expression of a comic book(s) in an episodic series ever and I’m HERE

I legit only read the comics for this episode yesterday so this was the first episode I watched where I had already read the comic. I loved the narration but the entire time with Allen, I knew what was coming and was heartbroken when it happened

The fact that they had a narrator out of nowhere makes it amazing

Ever since I saw his name in the season trailer I’ve been wondering how they were gonna use Paul F Tompkins and it did not disappoint. Fuckin love that guy

I feel like Invincible, for the most part, is going light on sex. Honestly, I prefer that. The Boys can really, really overdo it (as well as other adult shows and animation).
If I want porn I can watch it, lmao. I want to watch shows for the story and action. When used right and in moderation, it can be fine, however.
100% agreed. There was like a 2 minute sex scene in gen v between vomit girl and golden boys brother and there was just no need for it to drag that long.
It’s an expression on human suffering and human elation. Sex is part of that. It’s such a wierd thing to get so puritan about. If you can handle seeing extremely detailed gore and tiny details of brains being shot out of someone’s skull, I think people engaging in consensual pleasure shouldn’t be where we draw the line.
I wonder how or if they’re gonna do THAT sex scene in the comics involving Mark and another viltrumite. I feel like they can’t skip out on it because it has a pretty big impact on the greater story

Was I tripping or did they start the credits halfway through the episode? I was disappointed and ready to turn my TV off for a second.
I did too, credits first appear at like 22 min, and then theres likes 24 min left. Very unique, felt like 2 different episodes.
From someone who hasn’t read the comics before, what got me is that Peter Cullen is in it.

The voice-acting legend that is basically synonymous with Optimus Prime.

Spoilers ahead: Just a nitpick, but I didn’t like how they made Thula look so old, sure she’s all grey haired in both mediums but in the comics her face didn’t look old, and she actually reproduced. I guess I’ll just have to suspend my disbelief if/when the show gets to that.
I haven’t read the comics yet but i honestly think this was one of the best episodes yet. If this is what it feels like to read the comics I’m ordering them right now!
