With that belief, there can be no compromise and no doubts. All others are evil because your truth is the only good. And if all others are evil, then their ways must be ended and they must either be subjugated or purged.

That is the great history of the monotheistic religions. It begins with pride that lets you intimidate, silence, coerce, expel, and finally destroy anyone and anything that does not fit your truth.
