How do y’all feel about continuing a series after an author dies? To me, I think one last book can be written to end it, but the series should rest with the author, just my thoughts though. I’m in the middle of a series right now and some random lady is “finishing” it, but she has written like 7 books that show no end. I’m not mad, but I just want to feel the satisfaction of completing a series and having the whole collection.

Man, what i would give for a competent writer to pick up the Dragonriders of Pern lol. Like, theres so many story avenues left to be explored with the world post thread and cultural rediscovery as a colony planet. But then i suppose Pern is a bit more of an expanded setting than a trand sequential series

…hey, anyone know any good fanfic that covers those topics?

FWIW, your fanfic question made me remember this excellent fanfic Firefly novel (an entire novel) I read. (It may entice you to know it was written not by some rando on the internet but rather by Steven Brust, author of 20+ well regarded novels. He’s very Zelazny-esque.)
