If it’s not a famous book, you may find some Goodreads reviews and if you’re lucky a Reddit post or two, but not vasts amount of online discussion like you’ll find about any passingly good series or movie.

And if you love a movie or a tv show, it is much easier to convince people in real life to also watch it, since it’s way less time consuming and not everyone even reads books, but most people watch movies.

I just think that this really sucks about reading books.

What is wrong about an experience being “lonely”? Why would it suck? Some things are just as valid without needing to be echoed by others doing the same, or feeling the same.

Maybe reading can be a gateway into that? Your experience of a book, is just as meaningful valid, even if it is not shared by many or even shared. Your thoughts, your feelings are as valid whether shared or not.

That’s true, but it’s nice to discuss things sometimes to see if others felt the same way I did or totally different, and why. Or if it isn’t clear, it’s nice to be able to share your thoughts and gain insight. And sometimes the book says something very powerful and inspires thoughts about subjects like history, philosophy and politics.
