In Latino culture, everyone sends money back to their family in their motherland. My mom has been sending money to her brothers and mom in Honduras since she moved in 1988 and sometimes I pitch in too. $300 is a fortune for my people back home. Without it, they probably wouldn’t have electricity or food. It’s a small price to pay. I don’t understand how a fiancé wouldn’t want a better life for her/his fiancé’s family that they just left behind
That wasn’t the issue. The issue was that he didn’t actually tell her until last minute–the month she was supposed to come up with that money. He isn’t communicating with her at all. The second issue is that most of his family doesn’t even know about her or hasnt met her so it’s weird for her to be sending money to them.
