    I’ll make the same comment as I do every time this pops up. Progress is not measured in work done, it is measured in work left to do. If you’ve never worked on a large project, this may sound like splitting hairs. But people have an amazing capacity for doing work that doesn’t get them closer to their goal. If you want to guess how long the book will take to finish, you need to look at how the number of pages that still need writing has changed over the past 12 years.
