Was just thinking about how books give every emotion or expression a name while movies show the scene and you can hope to have caught their projection right? I was imagining someone giving a certain smile in a first meeting with a potential partner perhaps and then thought that in a book it would be described as an open casual smile. It made me ponder on how the visual aspect of it and a book describing it would be different.

Every time I read a book after a considerable gap, I feel like I start narrating normal actions and emotions in my head (is this even normal xD). So if any person experiences the scenario I was thinking of, it would just pass by in an instance where as writing it down kind of eternalizes it. But then I guess a video would do that too, however, the inner emotions would once again only be expressed best by words.

Just a few thoughts. Would love to know what you guys think.

Omg I’ve always had the narrating thing in my head, especially after reading a book. Thank god I’m not the only one

Ahahah yeah. I am bilingual so read books in 2 languages so it’s different each time. Reading a book in my native language I think has the most affect on me in this regard, since I usually think in that language.
