Quite honestly I can’t stand only a few books that I’ve read, recently The Awakening by Nora Roberts.
Holy crap, do I reallllyyyyy want my money back. I was bored. So. Bored. The magic system was subpar, the characters just….ew, everything was so, so boring. The MC is an idiot.

It was terribly boring and the ending was like ehhh??? The movie was also weird
And the fact that they were all like seven at the beginning was so unrealistic. I could tell this guy had never met gifted kids
Lol let’s make a kid fight real battles but we’ll tell him they’re all simulated games! Great idea! Def not gambling with lives or anything.
Good thing he never was like, oh fuck it I’m gonna go get some chicken nuggies and some Mountain Dew code red for a sec…and just left the “game”.
