Quite honestly I can’t stand only a few books that I’ve read, recently The Awakening by Nora Roberts.

Holy crap, do I reallllyyyyy want my money back. I was bored. So. Bored. The magic system was subpar, the characters just….ew, everything was so, so boring. The MC is an idiot.

What book is a zero star read for you?

“Go Set a Watchman” by Harper Lee.
To be fair to Ms. Lee, this was the original story setting for “To Kill a Mockingbird”, set in the 1950’s. She took it to the publishers, who advised her to reset it during the childhood of the main characters, during the Great Depression
After the publication of To Kill a Mockingbird, she locked the original away, and I believe she thought it had been destroyed. Her sister, who had curated her Ms. Lee’s works, predeceased Ms. Lee, and the next curators/executors were not as scrupulous. They managed to get her signature for release (I believe her vision was deteriorating badly), and released it shortly before her death.
Fortunately, I was able to borrow the book from the library, (I was 800+ in line but got it within a month or so of publication). Whole passages were exact to “To Kill a Mockingbird”.
If you have money and/or time to waste and never get back, I highly recommend “Go Set a Watchmand.”
