Quite honestly I can’t stand only a few books that I’ve read, recently The Awakening by Nora Roberts.

Holy crap, do I reallllyyyyy want my money back. I was bored. So. Bored. The magic system was subpar, the characters just….ew, everything was so, so boring. The MC is an idiot.

What book is a zero star read for you?

I read Eragon when I was like 16yo, after having read LotR, a year or so earlier . The dude was copying Tolkien right and left. Which is kinda expected, because all high fantasy writers have read LotR probably and it’s very influential. But man Eragon was something else. I did finish the first book, but didn’t bother with the others.

They got quite a bit better as the author matured. Rereading eragon as an adult was kinda iffy, but brisinger and eldest stand up to time.
