Overall thoughts and opinions about books like this?
It took me quite a while to finish and I definitely had to put it down several times, I saw a review call it “depressing yet beautiful” and I guess that’s the only thing that comes to mind, so many ups and downs in the story.
I finally finished it this morning and i’m feeling so sad!! But I guess that’s the point huh?
great writing. great great writing. I just wish it wasn’t so gratuitous and unrealistic. I wish it didn’t relish in Jude’s misery. Try The Heart’s Invisible Furies by John Boyne if you want a story just like A Little Life but… better. It’s wonderful.
