    I could care less about Kim. I just wanna know how legit is the whole no onions and garlic thing!? I’m not Indian and have made only a couple Indian recipes and just looked up some for reference and so many have onion and garlic in the recipes. Soo is the whole thing legit like it’s disrespectful to their gods? Or did the family make it up because they personally don’t like the smell of onion and garlic??

    I’m not being disrespectful or sarcastic. I just want to know if this is an actual thing.

      Jains and some sects of Hindus don’t eat root vegetables because they believe harvesting them harms many insects and small creatures. Onions and garlic are ‘Tamasik’ in nature and induces agression and laziness according to Ayurveda. Jains are only 0.4% of the Indian population. Garlic and Onions are base of most Indian dishes and majority consume it.
