Mr Peanutbutter is a good boy. And Erica doesn’t exist, he is distracting himself with imaginary Erica but whenever he approaches the “Erica” he realizes that is some other person that reminds him of his friend Erica and uses her as a way to start conversation with unknown people. Also, Erica is excuse not to confront negative emotions and deep conversation with his partners.
I thought this too! The only thing that kind of broke this theory is when BoJack said, “Have you seen Erica? She was looking for you. With her good eye. The other eye was looking at the stars.” Would maybe make sense if BoJack was in on the joke and just being funny.
Yes I know that moment :D. I think Bojack is using Erica to try to get rid of Mr Peanutbutter in that scene. Also his ex wife is also using Erica to fetch her a drink as a payback for all those moments when Mr Peanutbutter ignored her when she needed him. So they are just ironically fighting him back with his own weapon.
