I’ve seen people talk about actors and artists that had a terrible time.

My own would be Anne Rice. She wrote Interview with the Vampire after her young daughter died of Leukemia. Then her husband suddenly died of a brain hemorrhage. I suspect her Christian, anti-fanfic phase was a result of mental illness and manipulation from the publishers, although I don’t think she ever apologized.

Yeah, my bad I can see how it seems that way. I do think she may have delved into Christianity and found comfort in it, but the more aggressive aspects towards others were mostly due to publishers and mental illness. It just seemed to me that she entered her christian era and anti fanfic around the same time, but I could be wrong.

She’s often included christian elements in her works, such as Memmoch the Devil. She even wrote a series on Jesus Christ called Christ the Lord. I know she did distance herself from the church because her son was gay and for the reason you said.

Thanks for clarifying. I had no idea about the anti fanfic stuff. I’ll probably spend a night going down that rabbit hole.
