It seems like they have been playing with the two host format similar to Weekend Update.

Do you think they will move forward with two permanent cohosts instead of one?

Who do you think would be the best cohost combo?

It feels like a lot of “let’s test this out” going on. They’re probably as unsure of the future direction as we are right now.

I don’t know why they are trying to reinvent the wheel.

Why go through the rigmarole of guest hosts anyhow? They didn’t do that before choosing Trevor.

Maybe the gimmicky factor raised the profile of the show a bit?

Wasn’t Trevor handpicked by Jon Stewart to replace him? Maybe Trevor didn’t suggest his replacement? Or they didn’t ask.

Wednesday’s episode wasn’t very good. I wanted to like it, but it didn’t have much going for it.

I love both Klepper and Lydic as performers. I can’t imagine the dual host thing as anything other than an idea of CC producers. I don’t know, but I assume it has something to do with saving money.

The War on Christmas field piece was okay, but nothing new. The editorial from Leguizamo was alright.

The NC rep seemed like a chill guy, and he was able to articulate the good and bad of tiktok (it’ll be a cold day in hell before I ever use it).

Finally, let me say that there was nothing about this week that even remotely fit the theme of “News Team Takeover”, especially since Lewis Black was pictured, and he didn’t get shit, and it was also only three days trying to highlight five people.

“News Team Takeover” should have had an actual theme, like a skit of the correspondents crashing through a door into a CC executive suite, and tying them up, or pretending to steal equipment. Something instead of the big nothing that we did get.

Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn’t Ronny have the fewest hosting nights with just one? Jordan, Desi, and Michael each had a week. Dulce had one night right before the strike, and then started this week off, but Ronny has only hosted once on Tuesday. I hope he gets his own week in December, and Dulce deserves a full week, too.

I’m on board with giving all the correspondents a full week. And then put the top 5 in a run-off with an additonal week each. Or just rotate them, which is my actual plan.

Desi never got a week. Just one day, then the writers strike took affect. She does have 2 days though compared to Ronny’s 1

I concur, but no way is he walking in the door. OTOH it’s not impossible, but I’d buy a $2 lottery ticket before I bet a dollar on anyone clearing the bar he set.

Two hosts would make it feel very SNL Weekend Update like. I have no problem with that.

My hot take is CC has already picked the new host, but the can’t announce for “reasons”.

I want to see Roy and Ronny. They have great chemistry, and I’d love to see them blend an outsiders view of America with a deep south view of america.

C’mon, that’s disingenuous. The strike lasted five months. Nothing moved during that time.

But they definitely need a permanent host upon their return in January.
