So for about 3 years, I’ve had a job at a university library. I actually got my master’s in a different field, but have had a really hard time finding a job. The pay is super low at this job, but otherwise it wasn’t a bad job. It was very low key. Students are self sufficient, so when I worked the front desk, I had plenty of downtime to read books. I had enough time to read multiple books in a week.

I just recently got offered a job in the field I got my master’s in! It’s really exciting and I’m ready to move forward in my career. This job pays way more than what I’m currently making. It’s also a lot more demanding, and it’s a much longer commute (hybrid/remote). While I am excited to move on, I will definitely miss the perk of reading at work lol.

I’m curious: how do people find time to read so much with a busy schedule? I think what I’ll try to do is turn off my electronics an hour before bed and get reading in. I probably won’t read as much as I have been, but I’ll still get it in. I may also try audiobooks, but I tend to not focus on them well in a car.

For me it’s like tiktok or going on Reddit. You don’t schedule time to go on tiktok or go on Reddit, you kinda just go on there right?

Having ebooks on my phone helps that a lot bc I can just pull up the book on my phone and read, just as I would w other social media. I don’t think too much of it.
