I still think Nolan is selfish for the following reasons:

1. He makes Mark fight his battles when Mark is clearly still grasping with the grief and trauma of his actions in the Season 1 finale.

2. He brings more children into the Viltrumite dominated universe, with one of the children most likely to face the most horrific forms of discrimination from the Viltrumite Empire should he have failed to escape or take down Viltrum.

3. He doesn’t seem to care for how messed up everything is for Mark, who would have Debbie, his mother, in mind, to see his father move on the way he did after everything that happened in Season 1.

4. He still insisted on taking Mark out of college and disrupting his education for another month or so to train him to fight his battles alongside him.

But no 2 is the most selfish act of all. Why couldn’t he have more children with more prejudiced groups once he was sure that it was truly safe and he could ensure that Viltrum would either give up or couldn’t find him, thus subsequently not put his children in such danger.

I’m still wondering if Mark’s stepmom and brother are safe or not. After seeing that big guy survive like that, I worry that her running deeper into the cave may have not been enough to ensure their safety. Nolan knows that Viltrumites are like blood-thirsty pedantic animals, ready to kill and enforce their insane rules at any moment.

Nolan is so selfish and messy it pisses me off.
