while i currently believe that guy is not the mole and was perhaps faking allen’s death to fool the real mole
it was a reasonable guess that allen would think there was a mole, just based on what we saw in that council meeting. he was eyeing some of them with suspicion. if allen already suspected there could be a mole, coming to him and saying oh my god allen, i believe there is a mole and you must root him out, would kinda clear him. while allen is a fuckup he is also reasonably important as the union’s single strongest fighter and a mole would want him on their side.
also if this were a thriller type show solely about this storyline then there would probably be multiple moles. by putting allen on the tail of the others, he increases his own value to his handlers which could afford certain privileges, eg. they could get rid of him any time if there were multiple moles but are not likely to if he is the only one.
