Does anyone know how pirated sites acquire e-books in the first place? If they buy them initially and then copy them, how do they profit from it? Considering the vast number of free e-books on the internet, it would seem to cost millions. Additionally, how do pirate sites remain operational without authors rallying to shut them down? It’s a loss of revenue for authors who put hard work into writing their books.

It’s theft, no less so than if you went into a store, saw something you wanted and then instead of buying it you slipped it in your pocket and walked out.
