It seems kind of weird that they’re establishing a major plot point completely out of the blue, and right before it becomes relevant. Was the comic like this? I don’t think naturally fitting in a couple mentions that Nolan’s civilian identity is a writer a few times would have been impossible.

I don’t know, it’s probably not that big of a deal buy I had this thought thought at the end of the episode and it bugged me a lot.

    Yes, multiple times. Debbie mentioned he had a deadline to make, and Cecil said something about Nolan’s books when he was telling Debbie she and mark would be set for a long time in episode 8. The only thing this episode introduced in regards to the books is that they’re important for mark to read (and apparently he’s never read his fathers books before, although he may have just been missing context before if he has read them)
