Woof woof y’all!
Is anyone Dutch or speaks Dutch and would be able to spell out what the Dutchman was saying on the phone before >!Rebecca falls into the water!!daughter!< maybe?
What does he say when he sees Rebecca and what does he actually say to whoever’s on the other line before >!he throws away his cell!
Houseboats can be very fancy, from restored old boats to purpose built floating villas or something in between
wow, all three actually look comfy and cozy!
i imagine rebecca will purchase the most luxurious woonboot and park it right next to matthijs’ so she, keeley, and sassy can have girl’s night from time to time :D
It’s totally feasible to live on a boat year round. Lots of people do, including myself. The ONLY thing unrealistic about the boat that we saw in the show was the size of the set. With the size of the boat that was shown in the exterior shots; the interior would be significantly more cramped, but it’s all relative to the size and type of boat. It just takes a bigger boat to be that spacious.
Yes can confirm houseboats are a year round thing. I used to live in the Netherlands and they were cozy but warm. They have heat and plumbing. But yes they can be smaller quarters.
Agree w above that the outside shot doesn’t match the interior. But that’s basically true of every sitcom apartment we’ve ever seen (Friends anyone?). :)
gezellig, yes? :D
it’s really cool you can actually live that way. i used to think the boats were like a summer vacation home for rich ppl and they go back on land at night / after their trip. must be quite the experience to live on a lovely lil boat!
Most boats on the amsterdam canals are fully moored and don’t even move. When you’re on one it’s just like being in a house. It’s a pretty great experience. If you ever go to amsterdam don’t even waste money on a hotel
So, do I have to fall into the canal for one of the locals to notice and bring me onto their boat house or can I book them on the Internet?
i appreciate you for speaking to this!! wow, i would have never guessed, honestly! i thought whenever it gets cold the water must be freezing and so would anyone in the bottom of a small boat. what about runnig water and hot water if you don’t mind me asking? and electricity? heating? and, you know, bathroom waste disposal? i imagine you’re not plugged into an outlet + a waterpipe… or wait - are you? it’s fascinating to imagine living like that!
There are some nifty boat toilets.
The incinolet is cool. It, well, incerates everything.
Our houseboat has a tank we flush when we get fuel. They do have a pump that can come to the dock but we’ve never had to use it.
The boat I work on uses a vacuum flush system. It uses compressed air to open a series of valves and push everything down the pipe into the tank, without pushing anything back up into the bowl. They work great, when they’re working, but they often don’t. It’s a cycle of constant maintenance.
What do you think he meant when Rebecca asks him if they “did” it and he says “no” but then later under his breath says “oh yes, we did” ?
Most probably he meant that they had forged a real connection.
