Ted Lasso (Jason Sudeikis) is from KC and people from Kansas speak in a Midwest accent. I don’t get it. I grew up in STL and lived in KC for 3 years. We don’t have southern accents. I’m I missing something?

    Plus… the thing about accents… is that when you have one, you might not be able to hear it in others.

    It just sounds like regular talking to you.

    So, OP might talk almost exactly like Ted and just can’t hear their own accent :p

    I live in Texas and I don’t hear my own accent- I think I talk the same as everyone else, but then I’ll get gently chided or mercilessly roasted for it by my online friends from the west coast when we voice/video chat :p

    I don’t hear it… but they sure do.

      I grew up in California and have just relocated to the Midwest (it hasn’t even been a year). My partner and I called her family in Texas on Thursday and someone made a comment about my accent. I have no idea what they’re talking about, because everyone talks like this in ellllaayyyyy
