r/saltierthancrait is already unironically calling Eric Cartman a “voice of reason”, and praising the character, solely because he was making fun of Kathleen Kennedy. Ironic.
“End wokeness” is on Twitter is doing the same thing. The fact people never realize Cartman is on the wrong side of the satirical argument 99% of the time…. If you ever agree with Cartman, you’re probably wrong.
Stan and Kyle didn’t care that Cartman was a black girl. They ripped it for being the same stupid story done over and over again… which is the actual reason disney sucks
Stan and Kyle didn’t care that Cartman was a black girl.
Yea but it would also be stupid af if from the next episodes/season Cartman will be suddenly a girl, no matter what ethnicity or color or whatever. That’s the problem a lot of people including me, has with all that’s happening with movies lately.
Miles Morales is great as Spider-Man because it’s is own thing. It didn’t take Peter Marker and made him black just for “diversity” .
That’s the point… if the story is good, it doesn’t matter.
If the Little Mermaid live action had a white actress, it still would have fucking sucked… just like the live action Lion King and Lady and the Tramp sucked.
But there’s still red pillers that hated Across the SpiderVerse for it’s diversity despite the movie being good

Disagree. Seems like they are making fun of what she is doing and disney but also that people like Eric Cartman somehow think this is a threat to thier actual life and disneys power reaches past thier moives.
It’s making fun of both lol. It’s making fun of Disney for just redoing all their old movies with overly diverse casts with little to no creativity and making fun of people who over react as if it’s a existential threat
People are so smug about this stuff it’s insane. This is the show that depicted Indiana Jones getting viciously raped years back because of how his newer movies were handled, they’re definitely actually salty about the newest one.
Yeah. Like I kept hearing that South Park kept ripping on Disney and Kennedy, but after watching this episode, it was more ripping on the lack of imagination Disney has had over the past few years and seemed to have it be more of a commentary on how dumb people were reacting to what Kennedy did (with Cartman outright saying how stupid it was to constantly rip on woke stuff). I mean if it was truly ripping on Kennedy, they wouldn’t have had the “real” Kennedy admit to her mistakes and try to make her as human as possible (same with Iger), where they’d have instead gone balls to the wall of making them as unlikable as possible like past stars.
I feel like the truth is somewhere in the middle probably they usually think it’s silly both ways. Like in the episode where randy was ranting about avatar that felt like the writers complaing about stuff but also was making fun of randy at the same time. It feels like south park usually dosent have a lot of bite with political stuff they just make jokes which is fine.
While they were ripping on people that obsess about ripping on Disney, they were clearly primarily ripping on Disney. They fucked up Indiana Jones, they have lost one Billion dollars on their movies this year, The Parks aren’t doing good, Disney+ continues to lose subscribers and still has yet to turn a profit. Just look at their stock price, it’s lower then it was almost 10 years ago.
Both sides are being ripped on. Does it really matter which side is getting ripped on more? Unless you’re looking for brownie points for whatever side you’re on.
Pretty sure they were ripping more on people who imagine this is what Disney does than Disney itself in this particular scene
You know, given that Cartman of all people was the vehicle for this message
Yep it is, and as always it somehow goes over the show’s fan’s heads lol

They may be the least self aware people on the planet.

What?

But that would require media literacy! Same people think Vaught’s rainbow capitalism in The Boys is dunking on the underlying legitimate movements.

I know. My comment was about this scene in particular (Cartman’s nightmare)

LMAO God, you ae so right.
SQUEAL! SQUEAL!

Don’t overthink this. They are absolutely making fun of Disney
Yup! And Scrotie McBoogerballs was obviously all about oppression felt by the lower class, and also liberals and conservatives.

I’m pretty sure you read the meaning of this episode this wrong
