When Rebecca is breaking up with John, she looks around the coffee shop and sees couples disconnected, a woman alone, and a couple in love and cozy with each other. Fast forward to S3… when she’s at the doctor to find out if she can have children, that same in love couple is also in the waiting room! The writing in this show continues to amaze me!
Was it a writing choice or just a reuse of extras? Extras and background actors on a show are often part of the writing/production staff because it’s cheaper than hiring new background actors for every episode, so you’ll often see the same people pop up if you look close enough. I don’t know if in this particular case it’s supposed to be significant or not.
Even if extras are efficiently reused, it’s a thoughtful choice to reuse the couple as a couple.
