I’ll go with the low-hanging fruit: Mein Kampf. I’ve read it, cover to cover. As a piece of propaganda, it’s good. As an example of good writing? Absolutely not (though I will admit I have only read it in translation). Oh, and the whole fascist, racist, and generally shitty worldview of the author that he infuses into the text. And the fact that the author is literally Hitler. You 5-star that book? You’re a Nazi. Period. And as a Jewish person, I don’t look too kindly on them.
Wizard’s First Rule.
That series doesn’t get awful until like… The third or fourth book? Somewhere around there. Up until then they’re decentish high fantasy books.
No, that book is trash. I have never read any of the others cause the first one was trash. It is my understanding that the later books descend from trash to something akin to vomit or feces, but I wouldn’t know.
The books turn into a Libertarian circle jerk with the main enemy mostly being some fucked up, made up form of socialism. Like in one scene, a farmer harvests his crops, the bad guy’s army takes it all and say they’re going to distribute it to those who need it and the farmer complains because his family will starve so they put him on a spit and slow roast him alive on an open fire.
